Health & Guarantee

How we health test our breeding dogs for DM and ARVC, our limited registration, and what every puppy agreement covers.

Health is the first thing we look at when choosing breeding dogs, and it’s the first thing we talk about with families. As a veterinary technician, I know how much a clear health history matters. Here’s what we do and what we ask of you.

Health testing on every breeding dog

Both our studs and our dams are tested for two heritable conditions before they’re bred:

  • Degenerative Myelopathy (DM): a progressive disease of the spinal cord. We test for it genetically.
  • Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC): a heart muscle condition that can cause irregular heartbeats. It’s especially important in Boxers. We test for it genetically.

We’re happy to share the results with you, and to walk through what they mean for your puppy.

Good Dog screened

Our breeding program is listed on Good Dog, a breeder-screening resource that helps families find responsible breeders.

Limited registration

Our puppies are sold on AKC limited registration. They’re sold as pets, not breeding stock. Limited-registration puppies can’t be used for breeding, and their offspring can’t be registered with AKC. This keeps our lines in responsible homes and keeps the focus on companionship.

Health guarantee

Every puppy goes home with a written puppy agreement. It spells out our health guarantee and what to do if something comes up. I’ll go over the full terms with you before you put down a deposit, so there are no surprises.

Home environment and socialization

  • Raised in the house. Puppies grow up in our living space, not in a kennel run. They learn household sounds, routines, and people.
  • Daily handling from the start. We handle paws, ears, mouths, and bellies every day so grooming and vet visits are easy later.
  • Lots of new experiences. Car rides, visitors, kids, and new surfaces all become normal before your puppy leaves.
  • A vet-checked start. Puppies go home with their vet records, first vaccines, and a recent health check.
